Misatango Festival in Paris (France)

We are inviting choirs and individual singers from all over the world to come and perform this music in the wonderful Grand Amphitheatre of Sorbonne University under the baton of Maestro Saul Zaks and with the renowned composer Martin Palmeri!

Schedule, April 22 – 26, 2025

 

DAY 1 - Tuesday, April 22, 2025 - ARRIVAL IN PARIS

Arrival in Paris

Concert Venue on April 25: the Grand Amphitheatre of Sorbonne University

True to the Sorbonne’s enduring reputation as a centre of studies and intellectual activities, the Grand Amphitheatre is the venue today for many academic and non-academic events, whether national or international.
It provides a platform for official speeches as well as being a place of thought and discussion for many foundations, organisations and private or public institutions. Numerous conferences, symposiums as well as concerts are held here all year long. 

DAY 2 - Wednesday, April 23, 2025 - PARIS

Today rehearsals will be held at Église Notre-Dame de Bercy

Program:

10:00 - 10:30 am: Welcome Ceremony

10:30 - 12:00 am: Singers Workshop With Maestro Martin Palmeri
(no preparation needed, learning about Tango Patterns)

02:00 – 06:30 pm: Choir Rehearsal with Maestros Saul Zaks & Martin Palmeri (including breaks)

Venue: Église Notre-Dame de Bercy

Welcome Dinner with all participants at local restaurant.

DAY 3 - Thursday, April 24, 2025 - PARIS


Breakfast at hotel

Today rehearsals will be held at Église Notre-Dame de Bercy
"Night of the Choirs" concert will be held at Église Saint-Roch

Program:

10:00 - 12:00 pm: Tutti Rehearsal with Maestros Saul Zaks & Martin Palmeri at Église Notre-Dame de Bercy

3:00 - 6:00 pm: Rehearsal for “Night of the Choirs” at Église Saint-Roch

8:30 - 10:30 pm: Concert “Night of the Choirs” (selected ensembles can present their own repertoire – first come, first serve maximum 10 choirs á 5 – 10 minutes performing time)
Venue: Église Saint-Roch

DAY 4 - Friday, APRIL 25, 2025 - PARIS


Misatango Concert Day
Today the events will be held at the Grand Amphitheatre of Sorbonne University or similar

Program:
Dress Rehearsal Orchestra and Choir
Evening Concert Performance

Concert program:
First Part: Choirs will be able to perform one piece per choir with their own conductor – max 3-5 minutes per choir

Grand Finale: MISATANGO- approx. 50/60 min

DAY 5 - Saturday, APRIL 26, 2025 - PARIS Extension


Breakfast at hotel & Check-out

OR Additional extension night with sightseeing program

HD Guided City Tour with English speaking local guide (maximum number of participants per guide: 20 pax
This city tour will allow you to understand better the history of Paris and its architecture over the centuries. You will visit the most famous neighborhoods and monuments of the capital, from the Opera Garnier to the Eiffel Tower with enriched commentaries.

River Cruise on the Seine River (1 hour)
Embark for a relaxing cruise to explore Paris and its monuments from a different viewpoint. Feel the magical atmosphere of the river Seine while you admire Paris riverbanks.

DAY 6 - Sun, APRIL 27, 2025 - PARIS DEPARTURE

  • Performance of the Misatango at the Grand Amphitheatre of Sorbonne University or similar
  • Individual performance for each choir with their conductor at the Grand Amphitheatre of Sorbonne University or similar (3-5 min each ensemble / to be determined)
  • "Night of the choirs" concert at Church of Saint-Roch
    5 – 10 minutes per choir – maximum 10 choirs – first come first serve
  • Welcome & Singers workshops with composer Martin Palmeri and Saul Zaks
  • Rehearsals with orchestra, choirs, soloist, bandoneon and piano with conductor Saul Zaks and composer Martin Palmeri
  • Four night’s accommodation at a newely openend 4 Star Hotel in Paris: Paris H4 Pleyel
  • Breakfast Buffet Daily
  • Welcome Dinner on April 23 with all other participants
  • Unlimited use of all public transport for the duration of the event (in Paris)

  • One gratis ground package for your staff for every 20 paid participants (based on double occupancy/ max 4 participants)
  • Please be aware that due to the participation of international choirs, the festival language is English

VIP Patrons (Non Performers)

  • Concert ticket for the performance of the Misa Tango at the Grand Amphitheatre of Sorbonne University or similar (best seats reserved for patrons)
  • Four night’s accommodation at a newely openend 4 Star Hotel in Paris: Paris H4 Pleyel
  • Breakfast Buffet Daily
  • An official patron badge allowing entrance to all rehearsals & dress rehearsals
  • Unlimited use of all public transport for the duration of the event (in Paris )
  • Welcome Dinner on April 23 with all other participants

Please note that VIP Patrons may travel with their ensemble or make their own individual travel arrangement. VIP Patron participation is optional.
Non-performers are welcome to purchase concert tickets separately, however admittance to rehearsals, dress rehearsals & post-concert Reception is not possible without a full VIP Patron registration.

Possible extension night in Paris April 26 – April 27
